Psychometry - the ability to read an object's history and/or the impressions of its owner by touch. By touching or holding an object, Eva can absorb (and immerse herself in) the history of that object as well as impressions of its owner and of those who have come in contact with it. These 'impressions' include both memories of actual events and the thoughts and emotions of the individuals that handled or were in close proximity to the object during those events. The stronger the psychic impressions left upon an object, the more information Eva is able to glean from it. Traumatic experiences generate deeper impressions - these are easier to read and interpret. Very old objects provide much information, but are accompanied by a sort of psychic backlash - when overloaded with information, Eva suffers from intense, sometimes debilitating headaches. Living objects provide no impressions for a psychometrist - Eva is unable to absorb information from living things, only inanimate objects. |

| Most first impressions of Eva are the same - she's cold. She seems detached from her work and the people around her, almost bored with them. The Company holds little mystery to her, its operatives are rarely a challenge to dissect, its targets are notoriously simple. Unlike her fellows, she has no heavy-handed ability with which to defend herself - the result is a far more subtle threat. Unlike Elle, Eva gives the impression of a solid psyche. She isn't touched with madness, she wasn't broken by her handlers. In fact, she seems surprisingly well-adjusted. Her personal relationships are normal, if brief - she finds that once she's absorbed everything about a person, she usually doesn't want any sort of relationship with them. Lovers glimpse something beneath her cold, indifferent shell - passion that sometimes burns with jealousy and possessiveness. Eva keeps the people she works with at a safe distance, held coldly at arm's length. She knows all about them, and doesn't intend to let them know any more about her than absolutely necessary. |
